HARBORCREEK — The Lady Beavers, on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Penn State Behrend University, faced a familiar foe in the Harbor Creek Huskies at the District 10 semifinals. They were fighting for a chance to play the undefeated Sharon Tigers in the Class 3A championship, and the winner would also punch their ticket to the state playoffs. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be as the Huskies took one big inning and turned it into a 9-6 win, and Corry bowed out of the playoffs.

It was perfect weather for some playoff softball, with temperatures hitting 85 around game time at Penn State Behrend on Tuesday. The game itself was even hotter as the Corry Beavers took on the Northwestern Wildcats in the PIAA 3A softball quarterfinals. In the major thrill ride, Corry was able to pull it off in the eighth inning of play with a 7-6 victory to move on to the semifinals in the District 10 playoffs.

The Corry Beavers softball team headed to Jamestown, Pa., for their final regular season game on Thursday night. The Beavers were trying to make their last impressions on the PIAA District 10 committee for a second-place seed in the playoffs. They did all that they could control with a 3-2 win over the Muskies.
