Scott Pruitt: Lack of litigation transparency hides who really profits from lawsuits
Much discussion has occurred over the years at the Oklahoma Legislature regarding lawsuit abuse and how to remedy. I engaged in those policy discussions as a state senator and as attorney general. Always the challenge is to ensure access to individuals harmed and in need of relief while identifying and curtailing the advancement of nuisance litigation aimed at extracting payment for questionable or, at times, entirely baseless claims.
California's Population Isn't All They're Exporting
California’s policies have failed its residents. It’s one of the most expensive states to live in and instead of addressing an inability to keep the lights on, state officials are focused on creating more red tape. It’s not surprising that 117,552 residents left the once “Golden State” last year and 182,083 left the year prior. Sacramento’s policies shouldn’t be a model, let alone a mandate, for other states, yet that is exactly what the Biden Administration is attempting to do.

EPA Lawsuits: Environmental Groups Ask Court to Kill Water Rule - DTN
Photo: University of Minnesota The plaintiffs in one of several lawsuits challenging the Navigable Waters Protection Rule have asked a federal court to vacate the rule. In a motion for summary judgment filed at the end of last week, the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League alleges the EPA’s new rule is “arbitrary, capricious and unlawful” and asked the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina to throw it out.
EPA Science Board Directive Defeated - DTN
A federal court has set aside an EPA directive banning scientists from serving on scientific advisory boards if they hold agency grants. The ruling leaves attorneys on both sides of the case questioning the next steps. On Feb. 10, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled the agency policy changed by EPA when Scott Pruitt was administrator violated the Administrative Procedure Act.
Waters of the U.S. Rule Expected Next Week - DTN
Dry land would no longer be subject to Clean Water Act jurisdiction and the so-called “significant nexus” test would be eliminated in a newly proposed waters of the United States, or WOTUS, rule expected to be released by the EPA next week. Both the New York Times and E&E News reported Thursday the rule is set for release next week. An agriculture source with knowledge of the rule told DTN the release would come “sometime next week.” The EPA did not respond to three DTN requests for comment.

LETTER | Scott Pruitt's resignation letter
Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration.
Jodine Mayberry: Not-so-great Scott: Pruitt out as EPA boss
It’s been awful to know ya. I like to think that Kristin Mink had something to do with it, but probably not. Mink approached Pruitt on Monday while he was finishing his lunch in a District of Columbia restaurant and told him face-to-face that he should resign. We all know how paranoid Pruitt was about having to interact with either the press or the public, or Congress for that matter.
Keller @ Large: Scott Pruitt Is The Biggest Sleaze In Washington
BOSTON (CBS) – When it comes to politics, sometimes it seems there are as many different opinions as there are people. But in my experience there’s one thing just about everybody agrees on – they don’t like politicians wasting public funds and exploiting their public positions for private gain. And that fact should mean that Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt should be headed for the exit sooner rather than later.
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt: Trump put America first when he withdrew from Paris Accord one year ago
One year ago, on June 1, 2017, President Trump boldly and courageously announced that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. This was a historic moment that upheld the president’s campaign promise and demonstrated to the world that he puts the American people first. The president’s decision, together with his decisive actions through regulatory reforms and tax relief, is unleashing the American economy.

Congress Looks At Trump's Extravagant Travel Expenses
Trump’s almost weekly golf vacations to Florida. Melania’s frequent trips to Manhattan from the White House. Ivanka and Jared and Don Jr. flying around the world at government expense. And cabinet members flying first class, chartering jets, and taking unneeded trips. Never before has the United States been victimized to such a great extent by a president, his family and his cabinet members.
White House Chaos: Turnover, face by face
Americans have watched the parade of new faces in the Trump White House for months with both curiosity and concern about how well the country can be run amid such rapid change. In fact, turnover of personnel in the first year of the Trump administration was 34 percent, exceeding that of the first year of the five preceding presidencies, according to the Brookings Institution. Typically, turnover increases in the second year of a presidency.
Clean air, land and water: Time for the EPA to start keeping its promises
In less than a year, the Trump administration will solve a problem that previous administrations could not fix since 1990. A few months ago, I promised the people of Missouri that I would make a decision and propose a cleanup plan for the West Lake Landfill. Recently, I made good on that commitment. On Feb. 1, the Environmental Protection Agency put forth its plan to clean up the West Lake Landfill, a dumping ground for radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project.
EPA Head Scott Pruitt Once Said Donald Trump Would Be 'Abusive' to the Constitution
Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt has earned his place as a trusted advisor to President Trump, but in a 2016 radio interview brought to light Tuesday Pruitt bashed Trump as a populist who appealed to “disaffected” and a threat to the rule of law. “Donald Trump in the White House would be more abusive to the Constitution than Barack Obama – and that’s saying a lot,” Pruitt said on the Pat Campbell Show, an Oklahoma talk radio program, in February 2016.
Obama's Problematic Clean Power Plan Getting Canned by Trump's EPA
“Tomorrow, I’ll be a signing a proposed rule to withdraw the so-called Clean Power Plan of the past administration,” said Pruitt at a mining event. From its conception, the Clean Power Plan (which became the global warming regulatory bit of the Clean Air Act) has been controversial due to its aggressiveness in (supposedly) reducing greenhouse gases. Global Warming Alarmists loved the CPP, while the energy industry largely hated it.
Trump's cabinet loves living large – The Moderate Voice
WASHINGTON — So are there members of President Trump’s Cabinet who don’t travel by private jet? Put another way, do any of our top officials understand the difference between public service and personal luxury? Trump may not have Made America Great Again for you or me, but he’s made it pretty sweet for political appointees who want to jet around like billionaires at other people’s expense. Nice work if you can get it.
Obama's Record on Toxic Cleanups - FactCheck.org
Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt criticized former President Barack Obama for leaving “us with more Superfund sites than when he came in.” This is misleading for multiple reasons: Pruitt made his claim on Sept. 11 during an interview with the Washington Examiner: Pruitt also isn’t telling the whole story when it comes to Obama’s actions on clean air quality.
What Are You Guys, In Love With Glaciers?
Oh my god, what is it with you people? It’s like you’re obsessed. It’s all you ever talk about: Wah, wah, wah, the glaciers are melting! We just can’t live without our precious glaciers! I hear it so often I’m seriously starting to wonder if maybe there isn’t something else going on here. So tell me, are you guys totally in love with glaciers, or what? That’s it, isn’t it? You’re always going on and on about how they’re soooo beautiful and how much you would miss them if they were gone.
Senate Votes on Scott Pruitt to Lead EPA
The Senate has confirmed Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the EPA with 52 yes votes and 46 no votes. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) was the only Republican to vote no. Pruitt received two Democrat yes votes: Heidi Heitkamp from North Dakota and Joe Manchin from West Virginia. The Democrats spent the majority of the debate arguing about the catastrophes that will occur if Pruitt becomes EPA director.
U.S. energy dominance is achievable
ANALYSIS/OPINION: This week, the Trump administration is hosting “Energy Week” to discuss with state, tribal, business and labor leaders how we can pave the path forward toward U.S. energy dominance. This is a truly amazing moment in the energy sector, and President Trump is seeking to capitalize on the opportunity for the betterment of the American economy and our citizens.

Scott Pruitt: We're protecting jobs and the environment
There’s a phrase I’ve used often over the past several weeks — “The future ain’t what it used to be.” After my first full month serving as administrator to the Environmental Protection Agency, there’s no question times are changing, and last week we saw yet another example of how our president continues to lead the way. Auto manufacturing continues to be one of the driving forces in the American economy, accounting for 3% of our GDP. Forty-five states have 10,000 or more auto jobs.
Fox To Guard Henhouse – Scott Pruitt Named To Head EPA – The Moderate Voice
If you support environmental protection and failed to vote to keep Donald Trump out of the White House, shame on you. Even if you did your best to stop Trump, now is the time to pray that the environment survives the next four years of a Trump administration. More properly described as a right wing radical than as a conservative, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt appears to be in line to be named the new head of the EPA under Donald Trump.

Oklahoma AG: Why I'm suing to stop the Internet handover
The United States government created this foundation for the Internet in the 1980s when government agencies and contractors created the authoritative "root zone file" and domain name system, which act as the Internet's master directory and switchboard. Those two building blocks of the Internet have remained under ultimate United States control ever since.
The Next Supreme Court Justice - Imprimis
The following is adapted from a speech delivered on June 30, 2016, at Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C., as part of the AWC Family Foundation Lecture Series. When Justice Antonin Scalia passed away this February, talk turned almost immediately to who would replace him—although in a large sense he is irreplaceable. Even those who disagreed with Justice Scalia acknowledge his profound impact.
Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General E. Scott Pruitt
Is your nontransgender young daughter made to feel unsafe? The president says: Too bad, get used to it. On May 13 the federal Education Department issued a “Dear Colleague” letter informing the nation’s schools that they must immediately begin allowing students to use the bathrooms, locker rooms and showers of the student’s choosing, or risk having Title IX-linked funding withdrawn. Title IX is the 1972 law banning sex discrimination in schools.

Climate Change: Attorneys General Overstep Their Authority | National Review
The United States was born out of a revolution against, in the words of the Declaration of Independence, an “arbitrary government” that put men on trial “for pretended offences” and “abolish[ed] the Free System of English laws.” Brave men and women stood up to that oppressive government, and this, the greatest democracy of them all, one that is governed by the rule of law and not by men, is the product.

Pruitt: Doing more with less
When I took office in 2011, I made a commitment that the Office of Attorney General would find ways to do more, while spending fewer taxpayer dollars. To accomplish the first half of this goal, we increased by one-third the number of agencies, boards and commissions our office represents, bringing the total represented to 75.
Let States Do the Job Obama Won’t: Sanction Iran
President Obama’s executive agreement with Iran is enormously controversial for good reason. Negotiated in coordination with Russia, China, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, the deal welcomes Iran as a participant in the world community conditioned only on marginal changes to its nuclear program.

Pruitt, Halbig, King & Indiana: Closing Keynote
Featuring Scott Pruitt In Pruitt v. Burwell and Halbig v. Burwell, federal courts have ruled that the Internal Revenue Service is misinterpreting the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, unlawfully paying billions of dollars to private health insurance companies, and unlawfully subjecting more than 50 million individuals and employers to the Act’s individual and employer mandates. In King v. Burwell, another federal court found the IRS’s interpretation is permissible.
