Scott has worked for the Dallas Morning News since 2010. He currently serves as assistant sports editor. That includes being the DMN's lead digital strategist for sports coverage and overseeing coverage of all college sports, hockey and golf.

He previous worked at the Detroit Free Press, where he served as a sports writer and web producer.

Commuters heading North to Dallas on Friday morning faced major challenges in Ellis County as an incident that involved an overturned semi from the night before was still causing major issues on Interstate 45 south of Dallas. Texas Department of Transportation cameras at 6:15 a.m. showed the northbound lanes at Parker Hill Road in Ellis County were completely closed, causing considerable traffic backups in the early stages of the Friday commute in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Dallas’ Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, was detained by Louisville Metro Police Department Friday morning while trying to drive into the entrance of Valhalla Golf Club, the site of this week’s PGA Championship, according to multiple reports. He was detained by police Friday morning for not following police instructions during a traffic jam that followed a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian, ESPN reported.
