Parents of preterms who are followed in NICU experience distinct emotional challenges, including anxiety, fear of caregiving and uncertainty. Mothers adapted to caregiving more quickly with nurses support, while fathers developed a sense of responsibility more gradually. Parental readiness for discharge is closely linked to emotional support and individualized, structured care education.

The effect of therapeutic touch on colic symptoms in infantile colic infants: A randomised controlled study

There is currently no definitive treatment for colic symptoms. Non-pharmacological methods, such as white noise, massage, reflexology and craniosacral therapy, are recommended to reduce symptoms. Therapeutic touch (TT) helps to regulate sleep and reduces pain and anxiety in infants and children. In infants with colic, TT has proven to be effective in reducing colic symptoms. TT is a safe, effective, easy and inexpensive non-pharmaceutical method that can be used by nurses.
