VAN BUREN -- The Van Buren Board of Education honored two teachers Tuesday -- Haley Cochenour and Carrie Ball. Superintendent Harold Jeffcoat recognized the pair during Tuesday's School Board meeting for winning district teacher of the year awards. Cochenour was named the elementary teacher of the year, and Ball was chosen secondary schools teacher of the year.

Ozark City Council delays purchase of new brush truck to contemplate diesel or gasoline

OZARK -- The purchase of a new brush truck for the Ozark Fire Department will need to be put on the back burner, at least for another month, following concerns over which vehicle to purchase. The Ozark City Council agreed to hold off on approving the purchase of a new F450 extended cab brush truck at their meeting on Monday. The delay was due to a debate over whether to purchase a truck fueled by diesel or gasoline truck.
