Who doesn’t love a beautiful tree? Trees give us shade; some provide fruit in the summer and windbreaks in the winter. In the spring, some produce lovely flowers, and in the autumn, colorful leaves. Like every pretty thing, though, trees require maintenance. They need to be trimmed and pruned when their branches hang low, and someone has to clean up after they have shed their flowers, leaves and seed pods. There are two main kinds of trees: deciduous and evergreen.

Imagine biting into a thick, juicy cheeseburger. One that is loaded with onions, pickles . . . maybe even some jalapeños. And of course, just the right amount of... That's right. Who wouldn't love a peanut butter burger? When I confronted a friend about his peculiar culinary quirk, he challenged me to do a little research into the secret underworld of the everyday peanut butter sandwich. Apparently, peanut butter is no longer a stand-alone food.

Anyone who owns a cat can tell you that they are peculiar animals. They can have psychotic mood swings, often for no reason. But we also know that cats are very sensitive to things that cannot be seen and heard, such as illness. People have looked to animals for centuries for predictions about the weather. Is an animal's ability to forecast a storm or temperature change real or folklore?
