Cell autonomous regional differences in oligodendrocyte lineage development and responses to oncohistone H3.3 K27M
Abstract Diffuse midline glioma, H3K27-altered (DMG), is a lethal midline brain tumor. Most DMG, unlike glioma arising in other regions, harbor histone H3.3 K27M (K27M) mutations. The basis for this anatomical selectivity remains unclear. Stem-like DMG cell transcriptomes most resemble oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs).

Fond Memories Of Venture
Thanks for the article about Venture stores and its famous “Moostletoe” stuffed animals (WKT, Dec. 27 issue). I shopped at Venture for everything our young family needed. There was even a grocery store next to it. My son Mike remembers the toy aisles with all the Star Wars toys. Venture was the answer to a church-held trivia night question concerning closed stores. I sadly shopped at the closing sale, and still have “Moostletoe” and “Holly.” Sharon King West St. Louis County
Not the brightest bulbs
BeeGees rally after new lighting ripped up ahead of official weekend launch By Kirra Livingstone THE BeeGees were never going to let the pointless destruction of thousands of dollars in cabling and electrical equipment stop them from their ‘Lights Launch’ party. More than 30m of electric cables were ripped up and an earthing cable was stolen from the Glass House Mountains Sports Club on June 9 with dim-witted thieves believed to be on the search for copper.
Allying With Patients to Make Every Cure Possible Original
My colleagues and I were privileged earlier this year to meet with a caregiver and a young patient living with a rare form of pediatric cancer, who shared their stories and inspiring words of encouragement for the biopharmaceutical industry. Their message resonated with all who were there: Together we are working toward a world where every cure is possible. It’s a big vision. Every day, more than 400 million people around the world are battling a rare disease.

Teaching the Human Body to Cure Sickle Cell Disease
By Sharon King, Advocacy and Community Engagement Manager with Aldevron Living with the excruciating pain, debilitating fatigue, and other symptoms of sickle cell disease is challenging. Powerful painkillers and blood transfusions can treat some symptoms, but there’s no prescription for the mental, psychological, and emotional toll. Only a cure will change all that for patients – and their families.
STEM education: Summer is a chance to keep science learning on track Original
The school year just ended for Chicago Public Schools students — which means, for most of them, a newfound sense of freedom and a lack of structure and responsibilities as the warmer, longer days of summer take hold. This can be a time to take a needed break from the rigorous schedules and academic pressures that define the school year – a time to recharge and create the kind of childhood memories that will stay with them for years.
Learning losses in STEM education call for programs, interventions
Crain's Equity recently addressed the challenge of pandemic learning loss among Chicago Public Schools students, particularly those from under-resourced, disadvantaged neighborhoods. The sudden shift to remote learning in March 2020 revealed weaknesses and inequities that have long plagued education systems but have been especially prevalent and obvious in the past couple of years, according to the article. Then, on Oct.
Curbside Voting
This letter is in response to the belief that requiring a photo ID will make voting more difficult for older voters. One can get a form from the Board of Elections. Once this disability form is filed, it allows for ballots to be sent to the voter for each election. You will not have to request an absentee ballot for each election. The ballot does not need to be notarized. There is also curbside voting available. One just sends their ID into the polling place.
