Dickson County’s new budget goes into effect July 1, and much of the budget remains status quo for the county’s upcoming fiscal year. The Dickson County Commission unanimously passed the budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year at its June 22 meeting held at the Dickson County Administration Building in Charlotte. County Commissioner Jody Britt (8th District) was not present for the vote.

Zack Brooks owns Zack’s Music Shop in downtown Dickson, a staple among the local business community for 13 years. According to Brooks, on Tuesday, June 16, a man called the shop and spoke with one of Brooks’ employees.

Kelli Jo Cottrell, 38, of Pleasant View, was arrested on Friday, June 19, for resisting arrest and use of 911 in non-emergency situations, according to an arrest affidavit filed with the Cheatham County General Sessions by the Pleasant View Police Department.
