Our exports to our southern neighbour account for nearly 75% of all Canadian exports—it is basically a "one-customer shop" situation. The Beijing agreement is not just a trade deal; it is a deliberate move to correct a risky over-reliance on the U.S. market.

How is social media changing news?

Social media has fundamentally changed the speed and distribution of news. It allows journalists to reach audiences directly and in real time, but it has also increased pressure to publish quickly and made verification more important than ever. Platforms like X have become essential for tracking breaking developments, especially in energy markets and geopolitics, while also amplifying both accurate reporting and misinformation.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means seeking the truth, asking difficult questions, and providing the public with accurate information so they can make informed decisions. Journalism is a responsibility more than a profession — it requires integrity, persistence, and a commitment to serving the audience rather than any agenda.
