What was your first job as a journalist?
I wrote like four posts for CrunchGear one summer.
How is social media changing news?
It's certainly a lot more instant. There are a lot of people who wouldn't necessarily call themselves journalists breaking it.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
The way I view it: it is to provide info to and advocate on behalf of those who do not have the means or the megaphone to do it themselves.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Tell me what you are doing that is cool and different. I'm not picky about how you get there.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
WordPress is a basic one. I use Ahrefs to do SEO work, as well.
What's your favorite social network?
Maybe Reddit, with Twitter being a close second.

Not even a tech or gaming person. Gillian Anderson.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Between 9am and 12pm CT.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outside, hopefully! But also, probably playing a video game.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Verge is just unbeatable. Ars Technica and TechCrunch are both great, as well.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
A lot of people still believe the "video games are for kids" thing. In 2021! You'd be surprised.
