Why did you become a journalist?

I love to write and uncover the happy, sad, and influential tales of our world. Taking photos of these things is also important.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

My high school did not have a newspaper, probably because it was so small. I should have been the first to develop it.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

To date, I am happiest with a piece I did about a man's garden and a woman' butterfly sanctuary. Nature and compassion are always inspiring.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That you have to have a beat. I work at a small publication and cover a little bit of everything. Don't squeeze yourself into a box.
