The owner of the Save A Step Food Mart in Youngstown is lowering the price of unleaded gasoline on Saturday, July 4th in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Owner Sam Rafidi tells 21 News that beginning at noon customers can purchase unleaded gasoline for $2.50 a gallon. The promotion will run from noon until 2:50 pm. There is a 25-gallon limit. This special promotion will also include giveaways. Save A Step Food Mart is located at 6390 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

101 West - Hazing - The Code of Silence was nominated for an Emmy in the Societal Concerns/Politics/Government category. This 30-minute news program focused on how prevalent hazing is in schools and in society in general. The program focused on the history of hazing, the victims and their families and the legal aspects surrounding hazing. This special news program aired on November 13, 2025, and can be viewed on the WFMJ YouTube channel or read the story on wfmj.com.

News Central Great Lakes Emmy Awards ceremony was held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The 56th Annual Central Great Lakes Emmy Awards were handed out in Indianapolis on Saturday evening. 21 News was recognized with two Emmy awards. The first award went to 5pm news anchor Lindsay McCoy in the category of morning/daytime newscast for television markets 51+. The entry was from May 28, 2024, the afternoon of the Realty Building explosion.
