A deep-red emission fluorescent probe for detection of viscosity in living cells and mice Herein we constructed a deep-red emission fluorescent probe HY for monitoring of viscosity variation. The probe HY exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity. In 90% glycerol solutioin, the fluorescence intensity of HY increased significantly compared with pure methanol solution. More importantly, the probe HY have been successfully applied for visualizing the viscosity variations in cells and living mice.
