Snowflake’s Search Optimization Service (SOS) is a pruning technique that improves the performance of point lookup queries by avoiding costly scans on table data that is not relevant for query results. The feature was first launched in 2021 and over the years we made multiple additions, that make SOS faster, cheaper and more transparent and comprehensive.
