Overexpression of AIM2 contributed to impaired synaptic structure and function To further investigate whether AIM2 is a critical regulator in impaired PS at an early state of senescence, we injected an AIM2-overexpressing lentivirus (AIM2-OE) or a control lentivirus into the DG of 8-week-old C57BL/6 mice (Figure 3a,b). We confirmed that the AIM2 expression level increased in the DG after viral infection by RT–PCR and western blotting (Figure ).
