After Adam Thielen’s retirement and Jalen Nailor’s signing with the Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota could take Chris Brazzell II in the middle rounds of the NFL draft and develop him as a viable third option for the years to come.

CARNELL TATE, WR, OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY 6’3 195 X Carnell Tate was a five-star recruit, and the 22nd-ranked prospect nationally exiting IMG Academy. Arriving to a crowded receiver room as a freshman in 2023, he caught 17 balls for 243 yards, working behind future first-round picks Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. In 2024, he worked as the third receiver in another deep Ohio State offense, tracking 42 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns en route to a national title for the Buckeyes.

With five games left in the season, the Minnesota Vikings have not gained clarity on their quarterback of the future and starter for next year. They didn’t bring in competition for J.J. McCarthy during training camp; there was no question they were starting the former top-10 pick. However, McCarthy has suffered multiple injuries and struggled immensely when on the field, accumulating six passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions, and completing a paltry 54.1% of his passes.
