European enterprises are moving agentic AI from pilots toward business operations
European enterprises are beginning to look beyond generative AI assistants toward systems that can take actions inside business workflows. Agentic AI can connect reasoning models with enterprise data, applications and business processes, allowing agents to perform tasks rather than simply generate responses. That creates a larger implementation challenge because organizations need to consider governance, security, data access and integration alongside the underlying AI models.
British founders’ Hong Kong pet food brand raises $4.2M Series A
Hong Kong-based pet food brand Buddy Bites has closed a $4.2 million Series A round led by Digitalis Ventures, with participation from Hong Kong venture investor Adrian Lai. It is the New York-headquartered animal health investor’s first bet on an Asia-based pet food company, and it lands at a moment when Digitalis has mostly stuck close to home, with its activity outside the US concentrated in Zurich and the UK rather than Hong Kong or Singapore.
Could Launching Tumors Into Space Help Medicine Beat Cancer?
A new experiment is seeking to validate whether living cancer samples can be prepared, operated, monitored, and recovered under flight conditions without crew intervention in their standardized format for pharma-grade preclinical research. Somewhere over the Atlantic this month, a small payload roughly the size of an oat milk carton is preparing to leave Earth.
Meet the Architect Turning Sawdust into Carbon-Sinking Buildings - 150sec
Podcast When Aleyna Gültekin began her architectural studies in Turkey, her education revolved around functionality and aesthetics. Sustainability, however, was barely part of the conversation. It wasn’t until she arrived in Barcelona to complete her master’s at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia that she discovered the construction industry is responsible for roughly one third of global carbon emissions.

How SheAI is helping women catch the AI wave - before it leaves them behind
Whether we like it or not, AI is changing everything – and much faster than many people realize. One McKinsey analysis predicted that by 2030, up to 30% of current jobs will be automated, especially by AI. Of course, some will adapt, but many risk falling behind. Unfortunately, women are much more likely to fall into the second category: research shows that women are much more reluctant to use AI tools at work than men.

However, 95.4% of these firms employ 10 or fewer people, and over half are freelancers or one-person companies.

How Barcelona's Sycai Medical is using AI to give cancer patients a fighting chance
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth deadliest tumor type in Europe, largely because it’s practically invisible until it’s too late. When caught early – before it has spread – patients have a 44% five-year survival rate. But if it’s detected only after it’s already spread to distant organs, that number plummets to just 3%. The trouble is that early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely shows symptoms, and people typically aren’t scanned unless something already seems wrong.

Energy industry leaders on why they’re teaming up with startups to power the energy transition
A newly released report by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has ranked transitioning to renewable energy sources among the most urgent actions needed to combat climate change. However, the energy transition is a colossal challenge, and it’s clear that even the biggest players in the industry can’t tackle it alone.
