East Syracuse, NY -- Multiple fire departments are working to extinguish a massive industrial fire at Syracuse Recycling and Recovery Around 2:15 a.m., firefighters were called to the area after a fire was reported. Fire officials do not yet know what caused the fire but five buildings have been destroyed overnight and a lot of plastic has gone up in flames. No injuries have been reported and the large clouds of smoke that continue to fill the sky are not a public health threat, officials said.
