Martha-Ellen’s NC 8pt
Opening day of youth weekend in North Carolina was a great day for Martha-Ellen Kluttz while hunting in the stand with her dad. We got in plenty early and got settled in. It was hot and slow starting out, but once that magical time of the evening hit, right when the sun started going down and the temps dropped, we were in the middle of deer until dark. She watched 8 deer feeding around us, very calm and patient knowing she had a target buck in mind that was frequently visiting the area.
Dirt Nap Brought To You By Sly Stone

He sat and watched a four point chase does for a bit when he picked up his Mamas 223 to look through the scope and get a better look. He seen this buck step out an dropped him.
Sly Stone's isolation shaped a generation of sound
In the fall of 1971, Sly and the Family Stone's "There's a Riot Goin' On" landed like a quiet revolution. After two years of silence following the band's mainstream success, fans expected more feel-good funk from the ensemble. What they got instead was something murkier and more fractured, yet deeply intimate and experimental. This was not just an album; it was the sound of a restless mind rebuilding music from the inside out. At the center of it all was front man Sly Stone.

Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) A Memoir: By Sly Stone
Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) A Memoir By Sly Stone with Ben Greenman Published by White Rabbit – October 17th 2023 Thank You – A Memoir was released in October 2023, a book that I’d wanted to read, but hadn’t yet found the time to delve into. The reviews had been mixed and as a result, I was already half expecting to say, “an interesting life, probably told better by somebody else”.

THANK YOU (FALETTINME BE MICE ELF AGIN)
Dion Graham doesn't just embody the spirit of musician Sly Stone's voice--his performance also accentuates the lyrical rhythm of Stone's prose. Sly and the Family Stone's early albums in the 1960s are landmarks of popular music, a feat Stone worked meticulously to craft. His stories place listeners firmly in the spaces he occupied then and give perspective on why he disappeared for so long. Throughout, Graham sustains an authentic cool.
Review: Sly Stone takes you higher in memoir with tales of funk, drugs and survival
THANK YOU (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin). By Sly Stone, with Ben Greenman. AUWA. 320 pages. $30. While summoning stories from his remarkable yet erratic life in music, Sly Stone admits he occasionally had to depend on the recollections of others because his own memory wasn’t always reliable. At one point in his new memoir, Stone, now 80, remembers that during the hazy excesses of his 1970s rock stardom he briefly shared a Los Angeles mansion with a baboon that had the run of the place.
Sly Stone doesn't come across as 'Everyday People' in memoir
Here is the most telling sentence in Sly Stone’s autobiography: “I would say that drugs didn’t affect me too much, but I didn’t have to be around me.” In the works for more than a decade, “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)” is about drugs a lot of the time. And it’s about Stone not owning up to his responsibilities — musical appearances, child support payments, fidelity — much of the rest of the time.
