Sean Nicholson’s Biography

Sean Nicholson has spent his career working to bring employee experience and knowledge together with technology to help companies engage with their customers. His hands-on experience with technology, legal training in intellectual property, & years working with employee/customer experience offer him a unique perspective on how people and organizations can use technology to communicate.

As a Manager of corporate intranets and software development professional, he focused on identifying ways for employees to share their knowledge. By leveraging employee experience, he showed his employers and clients how to improve business processes using tools like intranet portals, enterprise content management systems, and enterprise 2.0 tools including Wikis and blogs. While implementing social workplace projects for organizations, Sean documented many of his experiences and best practices in his blog at IntranetExperience.com.

Sean's passion for people and technology naturally led him to opportunities to develop internal and external social media strategies for companies. His passion for improving business processes is now a natural fit for helping companies understand how to engage with their online customer communities, identify and amplify brand advocates, and reduce negative sentiment in the social-verse. He continues to document his experiences using a variety of social media platforms on his blog at SocMedSean.com.

Sean has been engaged in online communities for more than 10 years, having been involved in early social conversations using online bulletin boards and CompuServe forums. As the Web evolved, Sean continued his involvement in online forums and naturally extended those conversations to Twitter and Facebook. Sean currently tweets at @socmedsean.
