New Jersey Gaming Bill Could Facilitate International Poker Liquidity
A deal was forged in October to allow licensed online gaming operators in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware to share liquidity. The exact date this will occur is up in the air, but a common belief is that online poker players in the three states will be able to compete against each other some time in 2018. New Jersey legislators are attempting to take this a step even futher.

Play Big to Win Big: Bet Sizing Against Obvious Drawing Hands
That phrase "play big to win big" comes from the title of an old gambling text, one written more than a half-century ago. The phrase actually alludes to a silly but oft-stated theory that a gambler should press his bets when he’s ahead, and contract them when he’s "running bad." Such advice isn't worth a whole lot in most casino games like craps or roulette. But in no-limit or pot-limit poker, the size of your bets does matter, since bet sizing is inextricably linked to strategy.
WATCH: Rick Salomon Wins Nearly $1 Million Pot on Poker After Dark
It was billed as the "biggest buy-in cash game in Poker After Dark history." Understanding Stack Distribution in Tournaments: Big Stacks
Over the past two weeks, I've discussed how I play against both small stacks and medium stacks distributed around the table in a multi-table tournament. This week, I will wrap up this series by profiling the big stacks, discussing how best to approach them depending on where they are sitting. I will define a big stack as greater than 50 big blinds. These stack sizes are most prevalent in the early stages of a tournament.
Pros and Cons of the Minimum Raise
Earlier this week, Igor Kurganov outlasted an 86-entry field to win the PokerStars Championship Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller and earn a seven-figure score. While on his way to that victory, Kurganov took time to review some strategy with PokerNews and addressed the pros and cons of min-raising in no-limit hold'em, both before and after the flop. A minimum raise or "min-raise" is exactly what it sounds like — a raise for the minimum amount allowed.
A Look at Some of the Biggest Movers on Day 3 of the WSOP Main Event
Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Main Event started with the announcement that the players would play until the money bubble burst. The goal of the majority of players in the Main Event is to reach the money, so Day 3 is always an exciting day. It's exciting for the amateurs as they try to hold on tight to their chips. And it's exciting for the professionals as they seek to pry them away from their opponents.
Payoff in Perseverance: 888 Qualifier Turns $1 Satty into Main Event Entry
It was a lesson in trial and error. Phil Brockwell logged into his account on 888poker and sought out another satellite. He clicked on screen – and it was go time. Sometimes it was a buck, sometimes three bucks. With big hopes to parlay a micro buy-in to a trip to the Main Event and nice Vegas vacation away from his home in London, England, he was quickly seated at his table and ready to wage some poker warfare. Sometimes he’d win, advance to the next level or two, and flame out short of his goal.

Perrault began with the chip lead, but the two Canadian pros swapped stacks a number of times before McDonald eventually came out on top.
Cooke's Corner: Elastic and Inelastic Bet Sizing
Getting the best value from your hands means optimizing your bet sizing. Having an accurate sense of which hands and which size wager your opponent will call with helps greatly in calculating your highest EV. One important concept to consider is elasticity. Most bet-sizing equations can be compartmentalized into "elastic" or "inelastic" calling ranges. Elastic calling ranges are opponent's ranges in which the amount bet will dictate what quality of hand your opponent will call with.

Playing a Straight on a Three-Flush, Paired Board
This week I have another tournament hand analysis for you, a hand in which I flop a straight although both the board and my opponent's actions turn the situation into a difficult one. The blinds were 1,200/2,400 with a 300 ante, and I had the biggest stack at the table with more than 210,000. A loose-aggressive player opened the action with a raise to 5,000 from middle position and the button called. Dealt in the small blind I called as well, as did the big blind.
