Haemodynamic criteria of pulmonary hypertension Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a haemodynamic condition that is characterised by the elevation of mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) above the upper limit of normal. Based on a large number of invasive haemodynamic measurements in healthy subjects in the supine position, the upper limit of normal mPAP is 20 mmHg [1–4].
