The identity of our towns and the Armed Forces community have been entwined since the British Army chose Aldershot as its base in 1854, and they remain home to thousands of serving personnel and veterans, as well as innovative defence businesses. Working with local MP Alex Baker (Lab, Aldershot), we could not have been prouder to win the bid to celebrate our heritage, but also to highlight the important role of the Armed Forces and our continuing role in the nation’s defence.
