Summer — the season of sun, beaches and vacation. As the spring quarter reaches its end, one needs to figure out what they’re going to do with their break. Some of you may be staying home with your families. Some of you might be working full-time or taking summer classes. I, for one, will be birding as much as possible. I recently spent a week in New York City for a graduation and was lucky enough to spend my free time birding around the city.

Four years after the initial release of his breakout album “Stick Season,” Vermont singer-songwriter Noah Kahan returns with his fourth studio album “The Great Divide.” The album was released on April 24 and featured 17 songs. On April 25, Kahan released a deluxe version of the album titled “The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs” that mixed in four songs, bringing the tracklist up to 21 with a total length of one hour and 36 minutes.

The arrival of spring is signaled by many things – cherry blossoms, sporadic rain showers and of course, the songs and trills of Washington’s many bird species. There are thousands of various avian species, many of which have different appearances within species — something that can make recognizing them very difficult. While getting into the hobby of birding can seem daunting at first, many guides exist to make entry easy.
