Spike Loves Rebel
Rebel has cancer. I am not sure why I am writing this aside from the fact that over the last 13 years, I’ve shared just about everything about my life with the Ricky community. I swore I would just keep this to myself, for whatever reason I can’t really explain. It’s gotten harder to do that, for whatever reason I also can’t really explain. I suppose I can probably explain both. I didn’t want his life to be about the fact that he has cancer, which is why I have not shared it.
Seven Fears Spike Gets Before Every Live Ricky
Anyone who has ever worked with me in any capacity knows two very important things: first, that I am obsessed with things going the way that I’ve planned them to go, second, I’m absolutely sure they’re not going to. I am bringing this up because people on Team Ricky, who work for Franklin Music Hall, Dominick Barlow’s people, our merch partners at Shibe, they all are going to have to deal with the above bullshit for the next month as we prepare for Live Ricky VII.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Live Ricky VII With Dominick Barlow
The Sixers are trying now, and so are we. We called in Dominick Barlow, and we’re bringing you Live Ricky VII: We’re Trying Now, on October 17th at 8:30pm at Franklin Music Hall (the former Electric Factory). We’re going to induct someone (or something) into the Process Hall of Fame, talk about the Sixers, play some ridiculous games, and try to entertain you for a couple of hours. We’re going to do our best to bring some special guests.

Ricky Mailbag Season Has Arrived
We go deep into the mailbag, with just a LOT of topics, Sixers and otherwise. And we also discuss how the Sixers will handle back to backs.
Can We Talk About The Schedule?
Can we talk about the schedule? Can we do some schedule talk? Also Joel looks even skinnier, Ben Simmons’ jump shot still looks jacked, how many Sixers all stars will there be, looking back on Russell Westbrook’s career, and Mike has to watch a Gary Vee video.

Jaylen Brown’s Stream, Remembering Doc Rivers' Worst Moment, Adding A Process Era Role Player, LeBron James Is Still A Sixer
Jaylen Brown did a stream talking about LeBron and being disrespected, Mike recalled one of Doc Rivers’ biggest asshole moments as Sixers coach, figuring out which Process Era role player you’d want to add to this team, Weekly Becky’s return and Mike’s about-face on Jaylen Brown. Get the new Ricky shirts here: New Shirts! Push-Off Power and He's Never Coming Over The Sixers traded for Jaylen Brown and signed LeBron. People seem excited, so it felt like a good shirt time.
How Every Sixers Player Needs To Evolve With LeBron, Rich Paul’s Podcast Talks Embiid Trade
We go through every player on the Sixers roster and how they can adjust their game to work better with LeBron James. Then we go through some Rich Paul’s most recent podcast.
Spike Investigates AU Being a Secret Knicks Fan
Andrew Unterberger is a Knicks fan. This was the realization I came to reading his post from earlier this week when he announced that he was cheering for both the Knicks and the Thunder in their respective Conference Finals matchups. I know this is rich from me considering that in my teens I was an actual Knicks fan, but maybe it takes one to know one. I can assure you that there is not a team or a fanbase that I hate more than the Knicks and their aura farming mouth breathing fans at the moment.
It Was Worth Giving It One Last Shot With Joel
This was never going to work. We all knew it was never going to work. There was no chance that this Sixers season was going to result in the playoff success we all so desperately crave and deserve. Still, I’m glad they gave it a try. There will be many people in the next days or weeks or months that say that the right thing for the Sixers to do with Embiid was move on from him a few years ago, and with him, this era of Sixers basketball. I will probably even be one of these people.
PODCAST: Queensryche and Sault
We’re picking out some album suggestions from a while ago in the Apple podcast reviews. If you’d like to suggest one that way you can do it here. Album discussed on this episode is ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ by Queensryche. Then we discuss the new song by Sault “Good Things Will Come After The Pressure,” *This episode was recorded on Sunday, January 25th, 2026.
Goodbye, Jared
The first Corner Three of the post-McCain era. Can’t say I’m thrilled about it. Going to forgo the format I started last week and just write about McCain, and maybe get back to the format next week. We’ll see how it works out. I haven’t written regularly in a while. I’m not going to redo the “pay the tax” evisceration of the team and Josh Harris that I did on 94WIP and then did again with Mike on last night’s Ricky.
Welcomes and Goodbyes: Spike Returns to the Corner Three
Before I get started here, I’d like to thank Zo for his service to the Ricky over the last several years (salute emoji). Zo has been and will be a cherished member of the Ricky family for as long as the Ricky exists (forever). Only Zo and Mike have had tweets that were the direct inspiration for Ricky shirts. People forget that. Toast a Surfside to Zo’s legendary run with the Corner Three. That said, I’ll be handling this for the time being.
PODCAST: Van Morrison and 5 Seconds Of Summer
Album discussed on this episode is ‘Moondance’ by Van Morrison. Then we discuss the new song by 5 Seconds Of Summer titled “Start Over.” You can watch the Drumeo video with Ashton Irwin mentioned in the podcast here. *This episode was recorded on Sunday, January 18th, 2026. Chuck Klosterman and Spike Talk For 80 Minutes
Spike hosted an event with Chuck Klosterman at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore in Harrisburg last week. This is a recording of that entire conversation covering several topics within the book, reclining your seat on an airplane, standing at a concert, AI and the future of entertainment, and more. Thanks to Midtown Scholar, Chuck, Alex Brubaker and everyone else who made it happen. Order a signed copy of the book here: https://www.midtownscholar.com/signed-copies/football Subscribe for free.
Come With Us To New Orleans
There are always moments from each Fly The Process that end up sticking in my mind. Usually they’re not something I can predict and they’re different at each one. RESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE There’s always the question of “how loud can we be” at the arena. Notable ones here were in Milwaukee (made it on TV, got the attention of Scott O’Neil, ruined the game and lost) and Los Angeles (BBall Paul chants).
Twenty One Pilots & David Byrne Covers Olivia Rodrigo
There has been a listener who has been asking us to do a Twenty One Pilots album for months and months now. To be honest, I’m not sure why we haven’t done it yet, so apologies for the wait. Album discussed on this episode is ‘Blurryface’ by Twenty One Pilots. Then we discuss the new cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Driver’s License’ by David Byrne *This episode was recorded on Sunday, January 11th, 2026. The Best Music Released In 2025
Andrew Unterberger of Billboard joins us as we all discuss our favorite music released in 2025. Each of us brings four songs to talk about. Artists discussed include (in order of discussion): Jalen Ngonda, Drake, Torturetwinn, The Fearless Flyers, Hillary Duff, Yungblud, Yazmin Lacey, Alex G., Alkaline Trio, Elmiene, Bad Bunny and Joan. The intro music is “I Should Let You Know” by Marian Hill. This is Carl Landry Record Club episode #181
Best Music From 2025 (Part 1)
We have decided to break our “best music of 2025” podcast into two separate podcasts. The first edition is something a little different than we’ve done before. Because of the podcast, we discover a lot of music every year (most of it thanks to listener submissions) that came out before that year. So in part one of our best of the year podcast series, it’ll be our favorite music we discovered this year that came out before this year.
We're Going to Have to Be Patient With Jared McCain
Jared McCain’s return to the form that we saw last year is going to take much longer than we hoped, and we’re all going to have to get used to it. Admittedly, I was, am, and will be as high or higher on McCain than most people. I own everything I said, I believe it’s true, and I will be excited when it happens. And admittedly, the first 19 games of the season for McCain have not done much to make me look smart. But that’s all it’s been, 19 games this season.
Lil Peep's Crybaby Is Awesome
I discovered Lil Peep’s music this year. We talk about it in the newest Carl Landry Record Club podcast. Album discussed on this episode is ‘Crybaby’ by Lil Peep. Then we discuss the new song from Yazmin Lacey ‘Longest Way Round.’ Subscribe for free if you like music at all and aren’t a heathen. *This episode was recorded on Sunday, December 21, 2025 To suggest an album, hit the link below. The intro music is “I Should Let You Know” by Marian Hill. This is Carl Landry Record Club episode #179
Last Day To Pre-Order T-Shirts
The one-sided shirt is self explanatory. The two-sided shirt, which we’ll call “The Wall,” has the new Ricky logo on the left chest, and Rights To Ricky Sanchez “Wall” art on the back. They’re both available at Shibe Vintage Sports, and it’s a pre-order for them, and today’s the last day to do so. Then they go to print. Then they show up at your house.
Finally, New T-Shirts
Not going to yap about this too much. We’ve got two new shirts. One is one sided, one is two-sided. The one-sided shirt is self explanatory. The two-sided shirt, which we’ll call “The Wall,” has the new Ricky logo on the left chest, and Rights To Ricky Sanchez “Wall” art on the back. They’re both available at Shibe Vintage Sports, and it’s a pre-order for them, so be a little patient.
Pre-Mourning The End Of The Joel Embiid Era
The Joel Embiid era as we know it, is over. Whether you’re in a place emotionally where you can say it out loud (I am), or you’re not (I respect it), it doesn’t change the fact that the days of expecting the Sixers to be able to compete for an NBA title with Embiid as their centerpiece, is over. Truthfully, it’s probably been over for some time – as many will probably say when they read this very piece of writing.
A Good Day To Help
Once Black Friday hits, just about every email you get is some sale or promo code (we’re guilty of it too) that is asking you for money. This one is asking for money too, but it’s not a sale or a promo code, but it’s Giving Tuesday, so I thought we’d share some places you can help that have been close to The Ricky. Help Our Friend Helen - We’ve talked about Helen and her husband Steve on multiple pods.
Bilmuri and The Format
One of the great parts about doing the Carl Landry Record Club is when a listener writes in and suggests an album and it’s awesome. So thank you Grant, for this one! Album discussed on this episode is ‘American Motor Sports’ by Bilmuri.
A Tribe Called Quest's 'Midnight Marauders' and Geese's 'Getting Killed'
Enjoy this new Carl Landry Record Club as you’re waiting for Sunday’s new Ricky. Album discussed on this episode is ‘Midnight Marauders’ by A Tribe Called Quest. Then we discuss ‘Getting Killed’ by Geese. *This episode was recorded on Sunday, September 28th, 2025 For all of Mutlu’s tour dates and tickets visit https://www.mutlusounds.com/ To suggest an album, hit the link below The intro music is “I Should Let You Know” by Marian Hill. RELAX, IT'S FINE!
It was all going so well against the Bulls, and then it stopped. The Sixers lost in Chicago, but had some encouraging performances before the collapse. We also saw the return of Jared McCain. We then talk about the return of Meow Mix, the fraud Panthers podcast, and get back into relationship Advice.
November Ricky Pod Schedule
We did this for a while and then I stopped, so here is the podcast schedule for November! Subscribe on Spotify. Subscribe on Apple. Subscribe and watch live on YouTube and Twitch. November 4th (tonight) - After the Bulls game. November 9th - 10am November 11th - After the Celtics game. November 15th - 10:30am November 19th - After the Raptors game. November 22nd - 10:30am November 25th - After the Magic game. November 30th - After the Hawks game.
Could Edgecombe Win ROY? Embiid’s Evolution, Maxey’s Outrageous Production, Mystery Text Revealed
The Sixers lost their first game of the season against the Celtics, but not before having a last second shot to win it. We talk about Embiid’s second half and evolution defensively, another All-NBA performance from Tyrese Maxey, and how Edgecombe letting the game come to him could get him Rookie Of The Year. Then we reveal the mystery text from last pod, whether the Sixers are on Ozempic, and an amazing Keith Pompey video.
Daryl Morey Tried To Recruit LeBron From Sam Hinkie's House
The following is an excerpt from (the Ricky’s own?) Yaron Weitzman’s new book, A Hollywood Ending: The Dreams and Drama of the LeBron Lakers. You may remember Yaron from the hit book that featured a whole chapter on the Ricky, Tanking To The Top. Yaron will be on the Ricky next week to discuss the book.
HELL YEAH! The Sixers Are 4-0, We Deserve This
Sixers vs Wizards. We talk about the game, as well as the win over the Magic. Then we discuss how Jared McCain might fit into the current rotation, whether Kelly Oubre was beat up by the Mafia, and if Pablo Torre might be investigating Tommy Alter.
The Sixers Are 2-0, Maybe This Time It's The Year
The Sixers beat the Hornets to move to 2-0, after winning two times in their first 14 games last season. We talk about the win, the great performance from Quentin Grimes, the improved performance of Joel Embiid, and give some credit to Andre Drummond and Justin Edwards (we talk about all the players). Then we discuss the NBA betting scandal.
A History Of Fly (and Bus) The Process
This year’s Fly The Process is headed to New Orleans in February. The trip is titled “The Big Queasy,” and we’ll go on February 20th, right after Mardi Gras ends. We’re working on one amazing addition to the trip which we hope to be announced within the week. It’s a nice time to visit New Orleans, as the insanity of Mardi Gras is done, but every fun and amazing thing about New Orleans is still there, from the food to the music to the culture. It’s a very neat place to spend a few days.
Remembering D'Angelo (1974-2025)
It isn’t abnormal for days, weeks, months, even years to go by without hearing much from D’Angelo. Since his debut ‘Brown Sugar; in 1996, he’s only released two more full length albums. He’s one of those artists that didn’t release a lot of music, but somehow was ubiquitous because of his greatness, because of his influence. D’Angelo passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer. It hit me pretty hard. One, because D’Angelo was awesome.
POD: Joel Embiid Is Back, We Are Back
Joel Embiid played in his first game since February, and he looked great. Unsurprisingly, all of the Sixers looked better too. We talk about what it was like to watch Embiid again, and what it means for the season. We also discuss HBSE hiring Bob Myers to be Head Of Sports and whether it’s another Jerry Colangelo situation, and finally we do over/unders to predict the Sixers season given to us by AU.
For Squirrels and Limp Bizkit
Album discussed on this episode is ‘Example’ by For Squirrels’. Then we discuss ‘Making Love To Morgan Wallen’ by Limp Bizkit. *This episode was recorded on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 For all of Mutlu’s tour dates and tickets visit https://www.mutlusounds.com/ To suggest an album hit the link below The intro music is “I Should Let You Know” by Marian Hill. This is Carl Landry Record Club episode #175

Nirvana 'Unplugged In New York' and Richard Ashcroft 'Lover'
We recorded this one in July, so if some of the references are old, that’s why! Still a great pod. Album discussed on this episode is 'MTV Unplugged In New York' by Nirvana. Then we discuss ''Lover" by Richard Ashcroft. *This episode was recorded on Sunday, July 20th, 2025 For all of Mutlu’s tour dates and tickets visit https://www.mutlusounds.com/ To suggest an album, leave a comment or visit us at the link below The intro music is "I Should Let You Know" by Marian Hill.

If you like Against Me, or Gaslight Anthem, or anything in that world, you’ll enjoy this. Album discussed on this episode is 'Brave Faces Everyone' by Spanish Long Songs. Then we discuss 'Elegantly Wasted' by Hermanos Gutierrez f/ Leon Bridges. To suggest an album for the pod hit the link below.
