First 90 degree days of the year this weekend

Today starts with some patchy morning fog across the northeast plains, but it won’t stick around for long. Temperatures will climb quickly through the day, with highs reaching the mid 90s across much of the I-25 Corridor and eastern plains. A few isolated thunderstorms could pop up during the afternoon and early evening, bringing gusty winds, brief heavy rain, and maybe some small hail. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for western Colorado today as well as the NE part of the state.

Hot weather heading our way for our first week of June

Tonight will be quiet across the area with mostly clear skies and comfortable temperatures. A few clouds may drift in overnight, but most locations will stay dry with light winds. Monday starts off partly cloudy, then turns more active during the afternoon and evening. Strong thunderstorms are possible, especially east of the foothills and across the plains. Some storms could produce large hail, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall.

A mild weekend with chances for strong afternoon storms

This morning will start off warm for this time of year, with temperatures staying above normal through the day. Skies will be fairly active as the atmosphere begins to set up for showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening. A weather disturbance moving overhead will help storms develop, while a boundary near the area separates humid air to the east from much drier air to the west. Where that boundary ends up this afternoon will make a big difference in how intense the storms become.
