Chicago, one of the longest running Broadway shows of all time, is returning to Wharton Center this week, from April 8th to the 13th. Chicago first made its Broadway debut in 1975 and was then revived in 1996. This revival won Best Revival of a Musical at the Tony Awards and is currently the longest running American musical on Broadway. BroadwayWorld Michigan had the pleasure of interviewing Connor Sullivan, who plays Billy Flynn in the national tour of Chicago.

Life of Pi, the new play based on the book of the same name, is being hosted at the Wharton Center from March 11th to 16th. Life of Pi opened in the West End in 2022, amassing 5 Olivier Awards (including Best New Play). It had a short stint on Broadway in 2023, where it ended up winning Best Scenic Design, Best Sound Design and Best Lighting Design at the Tony Awards. BroadwayWorld Michigan had the pleasure of speaking with the actor who plays Pi’s father, Sorab Wadia.

East Lansing’s Wharton Center has officially announced their 2025-26 Broadway series. The season ticket package includes A Beautiful Noise in September, The Wiz in December, Back to the Future: The Musical in January, Kimberly Akimbo in March, Clue in April and & Juliet in June. There are also two add-on productions, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in October and Hadestown in January / February.
