Interview
See all 13 answers →How is social media changing news?
The ways in which news reaches readers have definitely changed thanks to social media. But the way in which companies communicate with the public has also changed. This in turn has an impact on research. Social media, but also digitalisation itself, has changed everything. Some things have become more complicated, others easier. There is light and there are dark sides to social media, just like in real life.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I don't have one in particular. Basically, I respect all colleagues who are enthusiastic, courageous and committed to their work.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
That you follow your curiosity, scrutinise and critically question facts, but are also committed to the truth. Because even if a medium is ultimately a product that has to sell, you can't create stories or sensations where there are none.
