Morning sickness is a common condition affecting many people early in their pregnancy and is generally harmless. A small percentage of pregnant women may experience an extreme form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). Morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum are very different conditions including different complications and treatment. Morning sickness typically includes mild nausea that’s sometimes accompanied by vomiting.
