I feel lucky at the moment. I’m a coach. But I’m also an athlete. As an athlete returning to the track after two and a half decades, I’m focusing on improving my running technique. And as a coach, I’m helping athletes do the same thing. Knowing what the correct posture looks like is not enough. You need to be able to move your body into that posture, and do it at speed. And it’s a dynamically changing posture. That’s where cues come in.

Python 3.15 adds lazy imports: a lazy keyword that puts off loading a module until the first time you use it. The import statement stays where it belongs, at the top of your file, but the work of running it moves to the moment something touches the module’s name. In this tutorial, you’ll make a command-line tool start more than twice as fast without moving a single import.

August was a month for reading release notes rather than writing new code. Python 3.15 stopped accepting changes to its application binary interface, and three older branches got security patches with real CVEs behind them. Four separate AI libraries shipped breaking releases in ten days, and the last of them knocked over a downstream framework, which then took about nine hours to ship a fix.
