The Gulf of Alaska is the site of a critical military training area where the U.S. Navy has trained safely and effectively for more than 30 years on alongside our partner military services, particularly during the biennial training exercise known as Northern Edge. We strive to be good stewards of the environment in everything we do, and we look forward to continuing to do so as we start to plan for future years of this exercise. Before I touch on this, I want to take a moment to introduce myself.

On it’s way to me is a Houghton Ensign Timber and brass hall plate camera. It was sold by Harrington’s in Australia . I am keen to get more information about this marque and type. I have found some links already. Been thinking about a wooden tripod to suit but very expensive it seems. Hoping for information about the camera etc.

Purchased yesterday from rural South Australia , a stereo view from a British Commonwealth neighbour, New Zealand. Having quickly Googled with the information to hand, one of the subjects may well be Sophia Hinerangi https://teara.govt.nz/en/biographies/2h37/hinerangi-sophia It's a amateur stereo-photograph, but I would love to know more about the photographer, whose signature I am reading as possibly J Martin ? I have sent a reference request to the National Library of New Zealand today.
