Jessica Vallejo has joined WFOR in Miami as a reporter. Vallejo, a bilingual journalist and graduate of the University of Miami, previously joined WFOR as a freelancer. She also previously worked at FIOS in New York and at the ABC affiliate in Midland/Odessa. Kristin Mazur joins WOIO, the CBS affiliate in Cleveland, as a reporter. Mazur, who is a graduate of Penn State, most recently worked in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Marie Saavedra moves home to Chicago as an anchor/reporter at WBBM. She comes from WFAA in Dallas, where she was weekend anchor. Janessa Webb was named morning meteorologist on NBC’s Early Today. Angela Brown has been named a national correspondent for Sinclair Broadcasting’s new morning show, The National Desk.

WGN America has hired longtime journalist Ashleigh Banfield for a new nightly show. The hour-long news and talk show, called Banfield, will air weeknights at 10 p.m. starting on March 1. The show will feature Banfield interviewing newsmakers, politicians and celebrities, and will also include in-depth coverage of the day’s top news stories. Banfield will replace the third hour of WGN America’s three-hour national newscast, News Nation, which premiered last September.
