Preliminary inquiry on Lake Charlotte attempted murder charge opens in Dartmouth

Gale and his lawyer, Alex Embree, are not disputing that there’s sufficient evidence to send him on to the Supreme Court for trial on the attempted murder allegation. They are instead using the inquiry to assess the strength of four Crown witnesses, including the complainant. Three men who were at the lake on the day of the incident took the stand on Wednesday before the complainant began giving her evidence via a video link from Newfoundland and Labrador.
