How AI Is Changing Valuation: From Multiples to Milestones
Enterprise software buyers and investors still care about multiples. In artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled Software as a Service (SaaS), the valuation conversation is increasingly shifting toward a different question: What portion of value is already proven, and what portion depends on execution that has not happened yet? That shift is showing up in how deals are priced, how diligence is run, and how sellers can strengthen their negotiating position.
Proton Versus Photon Radiotherapy for Patients With Oropharyngeal Cancer in the USA: A Multicentre, Randomised, Open-Label, Non-inferiority Phase 3 Trial
Background: Radiotherapy is an integral component of treatment for oropharyngeal cancer. Toxicity from the current state-of-the-art photon radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), has prompted the search for alternative, less toxic therapies. One such alternative that might de-intensify treatment is proton therapy.

Proton therapy, IMRT comparably effective for low-, intermediate-risk prostate cancer
Key takeaways: Men with low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer achieved similar quality-of-life outcomes whether they underwent proton therapy or IMRT. PFS results did not differ between treatments. Photon and proton beam radiation therapies conferred similar outcomes for men with localized prostate cancer, according to results of a randomized phase 3 trial.
"EVALUATION OF AN END-TO-END RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT PLANNING PIPELINE F" by Mohammad Daniel El Basha, Court Laurence et al.
Radiation treatment planning is a crucial and time-intensive process in radiation therapy. This planning involves carefully designing a treatment regimen tailored to a patient’s specific condition, including the type, location, and size of the tumor with reference to surrounding healthy tissues. For prostate cancer, this tumor may be either local, locally advanced with extracapsular involvement, or extend into the pelvic lymph node chain.
The Case for Allowing Proton Beam Therapy on Head and Neck Cooperative Group Studies
The Case for Allowing Proton Beam Therapy on Head and Neck Cooperative Group Studies Ongoing cooperative group trials are testing novel therapeutic approaches in head and neck cancer (HNC) with a goal of improving the suboptimal disease outcomes and profound morbidity that patients confront following standard-of-care therapy. Even with the dosimetric improvements offered by intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), normal tissues are invariably exposed to exit dose from photons.
Visual outcome and ocular complications in patients with lacrimal gland carcinoma after eye-sparing surgery and adjuvant radiation therapy
Abstract Background We report visual outcomes and ocular complications in patients with lacrimal gland carcinoma who had eye-sparing surgery followed by radiotherapy. Methods This review included consecutive patients with lacrimal gland carcinoma who underwent eye-sparing surgery and adjuvant radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiation therapy between 2007 and 2018. Clinical data, including details of ophthalmological examinations and radiation treatment were reviewed.

Subluxation, Microtubules and Mechanotransduction the Missing Keys
..."This stress/stretch has become increasingly recognized as one of the primary and essential factors controlling biological functions”... The neuroskeleton is a unique chiropractic model developed by D.D. Palmer.
Why Animal Chiro Makes Dollar Sense
I was reading some thoughts that a fellow colleague wrote about the 2019 Nobel Prize in Medicine. The prize went to a “breakthrough” researcher in cancer immunotherapy. They discovered that proper stimulation of our own immune system allows it to target cancer cells. One of my mentors, Sharon Willoughby-Blake, DC, DVM, wrote, “The ability of the body to heal itself is mediated by the nervous system.
Power Over Acute Pain with Homeopathy
The doctor who can best manage acute pain will be highly esteemed by the patient, positively talked about in the community, and receive optimal referrals from patients. Along with good chiropractic technique, quality care, and communication, homeopathy has provided safe, sound, fast, effective, nontoxic, nonsuppressive, and actual corrective solutions for acute pain. Safe Homeopathy has a proven safety record as the only healthcare solution with no known side effects.
The Ligamento-Muscular Effect in Subluxations
In this article, we have looked at some of the dynamics of the vertebral subluxation. The ligaments play a key role in the interrelationship of damaging force, muscular rebound, and proper correction. Joint stabilization is the key element in healing the musculoskeletal system. Imagine a force striking a cervical vertebra in a direction from left to right. If the force is great enough, the vertebra will displace to the right. All ligaments that restrict movement to the right will be sprained.
Massive transfusion and severe blood shortages: establishing and implementing predictors of futility
Massive transfusion protocols were developed to deliver blood for life-threatening haemorrhage; however, there are no guidelines to advise when massive transfusion protocols may be considered futile. Early recognition of clinical futility remains a challenge as studies have not identified variables that can accurately determine early mortality. As blood is a scarce resource, efforts to distribute it equitably to all patients who would benefit are of paramount importance.
This AI Can Spot an Art Forgery
The sound must have been deafening—all those champagne corks popping atChristie's, the British auction house, on 15 November 2017. A portrait of Jesus, known asSalvator Mundi (Latin for "savior of the world"), had just sold at Christie's in New York for US $450.3 million, making it by far the most expensive painting ever to change hands. But even as the gavel fell, a persistent chorus of doubters voiced skepticism.
Guest opinion: Everyone plays a role in protecting school communities during pandemic
Midpeninsula superintendents urge caution during upcoming breaks by Erik Burmeister, Steven Frank, Beth Polito, Gina Sudaria, Roberta Zarea / Almanac Uploaded: Sat, Feb 13, 2021, 8:57 am Nothing is more important to us than the education of our youth and health of our community. As the superintendents of our community's PreK-8 school districts, we would love nothing more than to open all schools fully tomorrow if that were safe.
Bleeding, anaemia, and transfusion: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

Balancing Supply and Demand for Blood During COVID-19
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a pandemic status for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and the consequences of this situation include a serious disruption of both supply and demand for allogeneic blood. The COVID-19 pandemic has already changed the world, with entire nations under quarantine, and billions of people grappling not only with the risk of serious illness, but the economic consequences of widespread interruptions of business.

Watch for Cottony Cushion Scales
By Steven Frank Cottony cushion scale is an exotic pest that has been in the US for over a century. Initially a pest of citrus in California cottony cushion scale is now a pest of many crops including ornamentals throughout the southern US. It is quite generalist and feeds on many ornamental plants such as Nandina, Euonymus, Boxwood, Rose, and others. Today I went out looking for tulip tree scales on magnolias and instead found a severe cottony cushion scale infestation.

Frank does an excellent job of making Sam's case seem like it might actually be something that the courts would take on, and Kalman's approach is great. There is even an overview of the "justices" and their different backgrounds that is quite fascinating, and gives a lot of insight into how an actual case might be considered. The fact that Sam and his friends want their free time for productive purposes helps.

Quinn Bradlee: A Different Life
Born into a privileged family, Quinn Bradlee has had anything but an easy life. During childhood, he was told he’d never be able to read a book let alone write one. Against all odds, however, the son of former Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee and best-selling author Sally Quinn has written a refreshingly honest memoir.
Secretary Solis Urges Hunter Grads to Harness “Ganas” at 199th Commencement
Imagine yourself as U.S. Secretary of Labor during the greatest economic downtown since the Great Depression. Then on the very same day your department reveals that a record 6.79 million Americans are collecting jobless benefits, you find yourself standing before thousands of the freshest faces in the workforce. That was the daunting task Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis faced on May 28 at Radio City Music Hall.
Multifacility blood transfusion management program led to $2 million in annual savings
A: Our most successful intervention — and the easiest to launch — was our ‘Why give 2 when 1 will do?’ campaign, which advocates single-unit blood transfusions. When I went to medical school, and through the 1980s and 1990s, we were taught that the dose of blood is two units. As recently as 2013, when the Choosing Wisely campaign began, we were told by experts in the field that we should give single-unit transfusions and then reassess the patient before any additional units are given.

Easy steps you can take to heal the gut
It has caused food in the U.S. to be among the most highly processed and least nutritious on earth, and peoples’ high rate of sugar and carbohydrate intake promotes the growth of fungus (like Candida) in the gut. The preservatives in food that are designed to kill bacteria in food products also kill the beneficial bacteria that are needed for proper gut health. Widespread and over-prescribed antibiotics also disrupt the body’s bacterial balance, resulting in numerous digestive problems.
Consider using herbal treatments for patients with sleep apnea
It ruins the sleep of 25 million Americans, with likely millions more who are undiagnosed sufferers. The condition prevents the sleeper from entering REM and delta sleep, causing them to become anxious, irritable, and tired during the day. There are also serious health consequences of prolonged sleep disturbance and deprivation. When diagnosed, the patient is told to lose weight, drink less alcohol, and quit smoking.
Commentary: The nature of cancer research
Cancer research reflects an implicit conflict. On the one hand, there is an overwhelming desire to control the disease. We all wish that. On the other hand, we would like to understand why cancer follows so many clearly defined yet puzzling patterns. Why is there such regularity in the rates of progression? Why do different tissues vary so much? There should, of course, be no conflict between control and understanding.
