We fought Harvard's Jewish quotas. Here's why we support the university in today's SCOTUS fight
As an organization that forcefully objected to anti-Jewish quotas at institutions of higher learning as long ago as the 1920s and 1930s, the Anti-Defamation League has an important perspective on affirmative action and its use in schools today. When the Supreme Court took up the question of whether universities may consider race as a factor in college admissions, we carefully and thoroughly reviewed the facts.
The Supreme Court’s church-state blind spot undermines religious freedom
Seventeen years ago, in a case involving the public display of the Ten Commandments, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor eloquently explained the critical role the First Amendment played in expressing this country’s “fundamental commitment to religious liberty.” In her concurrence, she wrote that the establishment and free exercise clauses of the First Amendment were written: “by the descendants of people who had come to this land precisely so that they could practice their religion...

So … About My Hair
So I have dreads now. And you probably have some questions and comments. I definitely want to hear them. But first, really quick, I hope I can take you back through my journey to get them. I never thought I’d ever think so much about hair. Honestly, at first I was surprised anyone would care what I did with my hair. When I started growing it out a few years ago in Charlotte, it was just something I was doing with six of my family members and friends.
Commissioner for a Day | By David Ortiz
I love the game of baseball with all my heart. It’s not just that I like baseball a lot. Or that I enjoy the sport. I love this game. And I want to see it get even more popular in the future. So for this article, I thought about some ways to make that happen. Now, I’m not gonna lie: At first when I sat down to think about what I’d do if I was in charge of the MLB, of course the first thing that came to my mind was that I would get rid of the shift. I mean, come on, right?

Growing Up in the NBA (Sort Of) | By DeAndre Jordan
At some point during All-Star weekend, it hit me. I was going from event to event, as you do at All-Star, and catching up with all the other players — some guys I know as friends, but a lot more who I just know from playing against. And at some point, it hit me: Damn. Look at all these young bucks. It’s not like I was feeling old or anything, but I caught myself a few different times that weekend realizing that I was no longer one of the young guys in the league.

0 SharesprintcommentThe Knicks are down four with five minutes to play. The ball is in Carmelo Anthony's hands. He's backing down Orlando's Tobias Harris on the wing and in prime position to score. Four takeaways from Knicks preseason
0 SharesprintcommentIt’s dangerous to make too much of anything you see in the preseason. Teams play a small number of games in circumstances that are often wildly different than the regular season. So any results in preseason should be taken with a grain of salt. Case in point: The Cleveland Cavaliers went 1-6 in the exhibition season.
