The writer has been a journalist for the past 12 years in Pakistan. He writes on human rights, social issues, climate change, and international relations. He is a fellow of the International Center for Journalists ICFJ and the recipient of the Equitable Asia Award 2021. He is the founder and Editor of The Northern Post. He is also contributing to National and International publications.

Journalism For an Equitable Asia Award

2021 - Investigative Reporting

I bagged second prize in the top three out of 10 finalists for the award. I received this award for my story titled “Braving hostile terrains and attitudes, the women at the heart of KP’s Covid-19 battle” published in Dawn. It was about the plight of lady health workers who worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

2020 - Winner in Mainstream English Category

I won first prize in the Mainstream English category of the Humanitarian Reporting Award 2020 offered by CEJ-IBA in collaboration with ICRC.

2021 - Winner in Mainstream English Category

I received Humanitarian Reporting Award for my story about crippled community issues consecutively for the second year in 2021 after winning it in 2020. The award yearly offered by CEJ-IBA in collaboration with ICRC.

2018 - Child Rights

I was awarded for Excellence in journalism award in 2018 for a story I wrote about child rights. It was about schools in Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
