Sophomore Addison Schinka was honored as the Most Valuable Athlete for the Stillwater girls golf team. One of four all-conference honorees for the Ponies, Schinka finished in a tie for 34th place in the Class AAA state tournament to set the pace for Stillwater, which finished eighth in the team standings. Schinka and junior teammate Nora Roberts placed second and third to propel the Ponies to the Section 4AAA championship.

Legendary Stillwater coaches Scott Christensen and Brian Luke were honored by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association during its annual convention June 29-July 1 in Coralville, Iowa. Christensen was inducted into the NHSACA Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 30. The following day, Luke was selected from among eight finalists to receive the NHSACA Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year Award. Christensen was one of two Minnesota coaches included in this year’s Hall of Fame class.

More than 1,200 runners completed one of the four distances as part of the Stillwater Lift Bridge Road Race on Saturday, June 27 in Stillwater.
