cPLA2α targeting to exosomes connects nuclear deformation to LTB4-signaling during neutrophil chemotaxis
Abstract Efficient neutrophil chemotaxis requires the integration of mechanical forces and lipid-mediated signaling. While the signaling lipid leukotriene B4 (LTB4) reinforces cellular polarity, how mechanical cues regulate its production remains unclear. We now show that cytosolic phospholipase A2α (cPLA2α), which is essential for the synthesis of LTB4, functions as a nuclear curvosensor.
Neutrophils secrete exosome-associated DNA to resolve sterile acute inflammation - Nature Cell Biology
Abstract Acute inflammation, characterized by a rapid influx of neutrophils, is a protective response that can lead to chronic inflammatory diseases when left unresolved. We previously showed that secretion of LTB4-containing exosomes via nuclear envelope-derived multivesicular bodies is required for effective neutrophil infiltration during inflammation.
Neutrophils secrete exosome-associated DNA to resolve sterile acute inflammation
Abstract Acute inflammation, characterized by a rapid influx of neutrophils, is a protective response that can lead to chronic inflammatory diseases when left unresolved. Secretion of LTB4-containing exosomes is required for effective neutrophil infiltration during inflammation. In this study, we show that neutrophils release nuclear DNA in a non-lytic, rapid, and repetitive manner, via a mechanism distinct from suicidal NET release and cell death.

ARL11 regulates lipopolysaccharide-stimulated macrophage activation by promoting mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling
ADP-ribosylation factor-like GTPase 11 (ARL11) is a cancer-predisposing gene that has remained functionally uncharacterized to date. In this study, we report that ARL11 is endogenously expressed in mouse and human macrophages and regulates their activation in response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation. Accordingly, depletion of ARL11 impaired both LPS-stimulated pro-inflammatory cytokine production by macrophages and their ability to control intracellular replication of Salmonella.
