KARACHI: The prime suspect in the rape and murder of a six-year-old boy confessed before a judicial magistrate on Tuesday to raping and murdering the boy and then throwing his body from the third floor into an empty plot. The investigating officer (IO), Sajid, produced the prime suspect along with his accomplices, including his father, uncle and teenage brother, before the court after completing their first physical remand.

KARACHI: An accountability court on Monday dismissed a contempt application filed against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over the initiation of auction proceedings for 527 kanals of land owned by Bahria Town Karachi (BTK) in Murree. Judge Muhammad Mehboob Awan of the Accountability Court No III ruled that the FBR was at liberty to proceed with the recovery proceedings in accordance with the law.

KARACHI: A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) has sentenced two men to life in prison for attempting to smuggle 168.960 litres of liquid meth (methamphetamine) in juice bottles in a container to Dubai. Special CNS Court Judge Rajesh Chander Rajput found the owner of the juice consignment, Abdul Qadir, and his accomplice, Imtiaz Ahmed, guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment, in addition to imposing a fine of Rs2 million on each of them.
