Sunshine returns but wind persists Sunday

SUNDAY: Sunday will be a few degrees warmer with highs in the upper-60s to low-70s. It will also be a sunnier day with more gusty wind out of the northwest. NEXT WEEK: The first half of the week will be on the cooler side with afternoon highs ranging from the upper-60s to mid-70s across the valley. There is a chance of scattered showers and rumbles Monday, and some thundershowers on Wednesday. By the end of the week and into next weekend, temperatures trend upwards towards the upper-70s.

First Alert: Severe risk continues in MN through early evening

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY WEDNESDAY EVENING: Storms developed midday Wednesday near the Red River Valley and will continue to move eastward through northwest MN into the early evening hours. Threats look to be large hail up to the size of ping pong balls, damaging winds up to 75 mph, and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The severe risk moves east out of our region by around 6pm.

First Alert: Severe storm risk continues into overnight hours

1AM UPDATE - FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY TONIGHT: A line of severe storms continues to march eastward into the overnight hours. The most significant risk remains significant damaging wind gusts 60-80 mph through the Red River Valley. The line of storms arrives in the Fargo-Moorhead area just before 2am, and through Grand Forks around the same timeframe. Although the risk is low, isolated embedded tornadoes can’t be ruled out. Heavy rainfall is a risk as well.
