Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are becoming the most promising devices for combined heat and power generation with their unique high efficiency, fuel flexibility, and environmentally friendly. Hydrocarbons, e.g., natural gas and diesel, are used as fuels that provide advantages for stationary cogeneration and mobile auxiliary power units (APUs). However, hydrocarbon fuels result in serious carbon coking issues when using the traditional Ni-YSZ anode.
