Why Aren't Smartphones Designed for a Woman's Hand Size? Original
Did you know the average circumference of a woman’s hand is about 1 to 2 inches smaller than the average man’s? Actually, does Silicon Valley know? Digital Trends sat down with TED talk host and author Caroline Criado Perez, who wrote the book Invisible Women, to talk about data bias in a world designed for men. In the book, she argues that the problem of gender bias in tech design is systemic.

The best smart home hubs for 2020
If you’ve been investing in smart home devices, then a smart home hub to monitor them is helpful. As many smart home devices don’t have screens, a smart home hub allows you to see what’s happening with your thermostat and other appliances. The best smart home hubs connect to devices from multiple brands, so you don’t need to worry if you’ve mixed-and-matched your devices, and the best hubs even allow you to make hands-free calls to friends and family.
How to make your own emoji
The way we communicate is constantly evolving, and a prime example of this in the digital age is surely the humble emoji — the little cartoonish pictograms that now adorn text messages, emails, and even pictures. Emoji can even change the way people perceive us. Originating in Japan in the late ‘90s, emoji are now everywhere, a universal language that crosses devices, operating systems, and international borders.

Now, with 4K TVs, you can get vibrant and colorful picture quality in a much slimmer package. We understand that some of the tech babble can be challenging to understand, and we’ve created a 4K TV buying guide to make things a little easier for you.

I Used Cloud Gaming For A Month. Here's What Happened.
Cloud gaming is real. In fact, it has been real for over a decade. OnLive, now defunct, launched in June of 2010. Yep. You’re that old. Gamers were skeptical of the idea, which is why OnLive didn’t make it. But last year’s launch of Google Stadia put a spotlight on it, and multiple tech giants are either working, or rumored to be working, on cloud gaming services. Google and Nvidia are in the fray, Microsoft has a service in beta, and Amazon is said to have an entry in the works.
What is 4K? Everything You Need to Know About 4K Ultra HD
Under the well-established standards for HD resolution (720p and 1080p), the HDTV market exploded. The prices plummeted as a result, and now even the most frugal of TV watchers can add one to their home. Eventually, 4K Ultra HD came around, and TVs supporting this massive jump in visual fidelity were few and far between, and usually reserved for first adopters with thick wallets. That’s no longer the case.

Jabra Elite 75T vs. AirPods Pro: Are Apple's Extras Worth Extra Cash?

But Apple’s $249 AirPods Pro are an order of magnitude better than the original AirPods, and this changes everything. It even creates a conundrum for Jabra, the maker of the superb Elite and Elite Active line of true wireless buds. In the past, the Jabra Elite 65t handily beat the AirPods by offering a lot more for less money.

Dell isn't messing around with its XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 updates
Rich Shibley/Digital Trends Two of the best laptops on the market — the clamshell Dell’s XPS 13 and the 360-degree convertible XPS 13 2-in-1 — are receiving updates for 2019 that should make a meaningful impact in their performance. Though full reviews are still on the way, we’ve now gone hands-on with both new laptops.
HP's Spectre x360 is a better 2-in-1 than Microsoft's Surface Laptop 2 is a clamshell
Mark Coppock/Digital Trends Microsoft is most responsible for the advent of the modern 2-in-1 in which laptops can morph from clamshell to tablet and a couple of modes in between. That makes the company’s refreshed Surface Laptop 2 an odd bird when compared to a 2-in-1 like the HP Spectre x360 13. Both of these machines received recent updates, with the HP’s being the more significant. Which one is better at its appointed tasks?

Did you know that Alexa can help your kids do homework? Here's how
While you may not think that a smart speaker is a good homework companion, there are reasons to give Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa a chance to help out. An Alexa device can be a surprisingly handy friend when tackling homework, especially if you’re a little short on time and can’t help out your kids as much as you would like. Of course, “help” may have different meanings between parents and their children.

HiSense Shows Off Triple-Laser TV, 1-Inch Thick LED TV at CES 2019
There’s a tendency to expect that budget electronics companies will rely on trickle-down technologies to power their products. After all, how can you keep your prices lower than the competition if you’re investing millions in research and development? And yet, sometimes this isn’t the case at all. Take Hisense: The Chinese company is the No. 3 producer of TVs worldwide, largely due to its low prices. However, it’s also showing off some of the most intriguing new technologies this year at CES.

Samsung Puts OLED on Notice with 75-inch MicroLED
By Caleb Denison @Caleb_Denison — Posted on February 8, 2019 10:03AM PST 02.8.19 - 10:03AM PST Samsung dropped a lot of bombs at its CES 2019 preview event, but without question the biggest star of all was its brand-new 75-inch MicroLED TV (aka Micro LED TV in Samsung speak). This is kind of a big deal. Last year, Samsung debuted its 146-inch “The Wall” TV. At the time, we thought there was no way they were going to be able to scale it down to a size most people could fit into their home.

Unfortunately, that situation became reality for some unfortunate soul. A man in Germany received more than 1,700 voice recordings from someone he doesn’t know when he requested his audio archive from Amazon, according to The Washington Post.
