Journalists are more crucial now than ever. It’s a big — some would say “hinge” — moment for Canada, and I’ve spent my career chasing moments like this.

Susan Bonner shares her personal story about her father's death and the care he received at a hospice. As a news reporter, I specialize in telling other people's stories as a way of explaining or understanding issues and events that are important to Canadians. This story is my own family's story and although it does not qualify as "news", it is about a painful event we all face. It is about my father's death and what that has taught me about end-of-life care.
