Suswati Basu is an award-winning multilingual disabled editor with significant experience in digital media at Channel 4 News and ITV News, who most recently worked as Head of Audience and Deputy Editor of NationalWorld. She is currently the news editor for iGaming site, ReadWrite.

Guardian Mary Stott Prize

2007

The Mary Stott prize (named after the editor who steered these pages from 1957 to 1972), was the chance to edit the women's pages for a week; entrants had to send in five article ideas, a CV and a description of why they would best suit the job. The other was the chance to attend a party to celebrate our anniversary - in return for 300 words describing what the pages meant to them.

Guardian International Development Journalism Award

Many crucial issues facing the developing world are often overlooked or underrepresented by the media. The Guardian International Development Journalism competition aims to highlight some of them. They are searching for enthusiastic writers who want to demonstrate their journalistic abilities by examining these issues.

Journalism Diversity Fund

2014

Four aspiring journalists have been awarded Journalism Diversity Fund bursaries to complete NCTJ-accredited training courses. Bursaries are awarded four times a year to students planning to study an NCTJ-accredited course. They are awarded to students from socially or ethnically diverse backgrounds and can help them cover the cost of course fees and living expenses.
