The 60th annual Lakeville Panorama of Progress for 2026 will be filled with new events and traditional favorites. Between July 4-12, local residents can enjoy food, rides, sporting events, fireworks, the Grand Parade, music and more. The parade will feature the Budweiser Clydesdales, as the iconic horse team is celebrating its 150th year. The Clydesdales can be viewed at 4 p.m. when they are setting up to embark on the Grand Parade route down Holyoke Avenue.

Apple Valley man builds 'golf' course in his backyard

APPLE VALLEY-David Linner has been playing mountain golf since he was little kid, but it wasn’t until this year that he decided to bring some of the mountain to Apple Valley. Linner, a retired architect, says the game was created in 1939 when his grandfather, Dr. H.P. Linner and J.H. Mayhew took a croquet mallet, a hard rubber ball and scattered some “holes” around Red Cedar Point on Lake Minnewashta in Excelsior, Minnesota.

Dancin' & Cruisin' revs up Apple Valley Freedom Days

Apple Valley Freedom Days revved up Friday with the opening event of Dancin' & Cruisin' at the Apple Valley American Legion Post 1776. The event included dozens of cars representing a wide range of makes, models and years. From an early 1900s Chevrolet to sports cars made in the 2000s, dream rides could be found all around. The event also included music, food and an awards show. Freedom Days events continue this week. More is at avfreedomdays.com.
