What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job, anchoring the morning newscast at WXVT-TV in Greenville, Mississippi. Boy, talk about nervous. My foot kept tapping the desk.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email is best. I find that the way a person writes what they need tells a lot about how digestible the story will be to the public.

What's your favorite social network?

While I've mastered social media and how to use it for journalism, I'm not a huge fan of the platform.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I've always been a huge TIME magazine fan. The subjects they report on are always fascinating.
