2 men killed in early morning shooting in Port St. Lucie neighborhood, police say
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Port St. Lucie Police Department is investigating a double fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in a residential neighborhood. Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 1300 block of Southeast Rivergreen Circle after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots. When officers arrived, they found two adult men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the driveways of a residence.

One U.S. service member was killed and another wounded Saturday in northern Iraq during a "controlled detonation" of a downed Iranian attack drone, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Sunday. The death came a day after two other U.S. service members were killed during ballistic missile and drone attacks on an American base in Jordan. One other service member remains missing, though the military said "unidentified remains" were found Sunday and were being evaluated.

We are tracking the second tropical depression of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season after the National Hurricane Center designated the system over the northeastern Gulf on this morning. As of the National Hurricane Center's initial advisory Sunday, Tropical Depression Two had maximum sustained winds of 30 mph and was moving slowly toward the north-northwest. Gradual strengthening is forecast, and the system is expected to become a tropical storm as it approaches the northern Gulf Coast.

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Andes region of Peru, killing at least five people, authorities said Sunday. More than 20 people were injured and 300 have been displaced. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake struck on Saturday at 9:24 p.m., with its epicenter located 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) west-southwest of the city of Sicaya in Huancayo province.
