The world had a record 3,795 billionaires in 2025, according to a new report from Altrata. The collective wealth of the world’s billionaires increased 12.8% in 2025 to a record $15.1 trillion, Altrata said. There are now 29 “superbillionaires” with a net worth of at least $50 billion. Motorcyclist ejected, killed in crash on State Road 7
PALM BEACH CO., Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a man is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash on State Road 7 on Friday afternoon. Deputies said a Chevy Equinox, driven by a 61-year-old Boca Raton man, was traveling westbound on EF Johns Parkway at the intersection of SR 7 at around 2:58 p.m. on Sept. 4. At the same time, the report said a Yamaha motorcycle, driven by an unidentified man, was traveling northbound on SR 7 in the center lane.
Trump threatens trade cutoffs if Fed doesn’t lower interest rates
President Donald Trump threatened to cut off trade with any nation with which the U.S. runs a trade deficit if the Federal Reserve does not lower interest rates. Trump made the comments after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the U.S. added 162,000 jobs in August, signaling continued strength in the labor market. Trump has long pushed for lower interest rates, but a strong jobs report typically makes rate cuts less likely.
DHS says 380 arrested in Springfield, Ohio, after Haiti TPS protections end
After the Trump administration ended temporary protected status for thousands of Haitian migrants in the U.S., Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Friday that immigration agents had arrested 380 people in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield was thrust into the national spotlight in 2024 when then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump falsely claimed that members of the city’s large Haitian community were eating cats and dogs.
Zelenskyy offers pause in airstrikes during US envoys’ Moscow trip
U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday to try to revive a stalled push to end Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian state news outlets reported. The visit came as both sides escalated their aerial attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would halt airstrikes during the envoys' trip and urged Moscow to do the same. Moscow did not publicly respond to the proposal.
