Influence of increased crown height space on reverse torque value in extra-narrow–diameter implants: insights from a 5-year laboratory simulation
Abstract The biomechanical effects of different crown height space (CHS) on stability in extra-narrow–diameter implants (ENDIs) remain unclear. Therefore, this in vitro study aimed to evaluate the reverse torque value (RTV) of 2.9-mm ENDIs restored with increased CHS. Thirty-three ENDIs were allocated into three groups based on CHS: Group C, 8 mm (control); Group L, 11 mm (long); and Group E, 14 mm (extra-long).
Effect of clinical-crown height space on extra-narrow dental implant (2.9 mm) fracture load and failure mode
Narrow diameter implants (NDIs) (diameter 3.1–3.75 mm) can be used to rehabilitate missing teeth with limited prosthetic space, such as anterior teeth, and provide a reasonable alternative to bone augmentation procedures with a 91.4% success rate.1-5 However, even with NDIs, rehabilitation of the maxillary lateral and mandibular incisors can be challenging owing to space limitations and limited bone availability.5, 6 This limitation has resulted in the development and introduction of...
