This weekend marks 25 years since the disappearance of four-year-old Jaquilla Scales from her home in the 1600 block of N. Volutsia in Wichita, a few blocks west of 15th & Hillside. Described by those who knew her as having an “old soul,” Scales lived with her great-grandmother Mattie, her mother Eureka, and her two-year-old brother, in a small pink house.

At the corner of 2nd & Seneca in Wichita's Delano neighborhood is Seneca Street Liquor, which has now gained worldwide fame after a regular customer made a TikTok video. The video, which has gone viral, looks like an advertisement -- but it's not. Ever since the catchy jingle was posted online, business has been booming; some people are even showing up and doing TikTok dances in the front parking lot.

A 65-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after police said he was shot while trying to enter a home that wasn’t his, in the southeast part of Wichita. Police were called to a home in the 900 block of S. Rutan, near Lincoln & Hillside, at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday; officers located a man in the driveway with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The man was hospitalized in critical condition, but is expected to survive.
