I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. For the first 24 years of my working life, I was a paraprofessional at the Phoenix Public Library. Then, in 1990, I got my library degree from the University of Arizona and pursued a career in academic libraries in the northeast. I was a systems librarian at Adelphi University, NYU, Quinnipiac University, The New York Law School and the College of New Rochelle.
